Welcome New Teacher Claire Mackowiak!

Claire grew up on the west side of Michigan in Grand Haven. She always thought everyone grew up with a beach close by, and then quickly realized that this was not the truth. She then came to cheerish how luckly she was to live so close to the water. Claire still loves going home to spend time at Grand Haven Beach.

After graduating from Grand Haven High School, she followed her dreams to Michigan State University where she studied elementary education. After graduation, Claire student taught in a second grade class in Grand Haven. Once she completed her student teaching she accepted a job teaching third grade at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic School in East Lansing. At this time, Claire simultaneously took classes towards her masters at MSU, which is where received her Masters in Education. After teaching at St. Thomas Aquinas for five amazing years, Claire got married and left St. Thomas Aquinas to be closer to family. Her family just so happens to also be a part of our Laker community. We are extremely lucky to have found her. The pieces have all fallen into place and she is very excited to have found her place as part of the Laker Family. 

Claire is looking forward to to teaching her little Kinders!
