Students Identify Common Rocks and Minerals

Our Advanced Placement Environmental Science students began their introduction to rocks and minerals last week through their lab entitled Common Uses of Rocks and Minerals. Students investigated 10 rocks and minerals by performing a variety of tests to determine hardness, color, streak, and other special properties.

After testing the unknown minerals and rocks, students identified each and were amazed to see how often they come in contact with them in their day to day life.
