Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic School celebrates Taejun Lee of the Class of 2020. Taejun is an international student from China; most known him by Ted. We turn to World Religions teacher, Mrs. Gainey, for more:
“Ted is quiet in the classroom so it took me a few weeks to make the connection to his younger brother Eunjun, Andy. Truth be told, I believe their parents would be proud of both sons for impeccable manners and commitment to hard work and study but my focus is on big brother.
Ted is attentive to his schoolwork and very respectful not only of me as a teacher but also the process of teaching as well. He never needed to be corrected or reminded of his educational responsibilities. In reading his “Tunes-day” journal, which students write reflections on a meditative Christian song each week, I discovered that he emphasized the calmness of the music in many of the entries. I believe it speaks to the calmness and the introspective spirit in which Ted appears to approach life. But Ted is not “all work and no play” as his outer demeanor may suggest. When I asked the seniors the best memory they had of their time at Lakes, he answered, “the first Homecoming party.” Enough said. Ted is, without a doubt, a true blue Laker with an answer like that.
Congratulations, Taejun Lee and thank you for enhancing OLL as a member of the Class of 2020!”
