Senior named Good Citizen by Daughters of the American Revolution

Congratulations to senior, Maya Lafnear, for she was presented with the Good Citizen award by the Daughters of the American Revolution’s Sashabaw Plains Chapter. This award is given to students who possess the qualities of dependability, service, leadership and patriotism.

In order to apply, Maya had to complete an essay on “Our American Heritage and Our Responsibility for Preserving It: “How do the qualities of a good citizen (dependability, service, leadership and patriotism) help support our nation?”.

Maya wrote in her essay: 

"By having dependability, service, leadership and patriotism in each of us, we will further achieve more in life by the way we serve our nation as a whole. These traits are what will establish the good of our nation and what benefits us as a society."
