Waterford Our Lady cruises to Class D regional title

(DREW ELLIS – The Oakland Press) The Waterford Our Lady of the Lakes girls basketball team holds up the Class D regional championship after defeating Marine City Cardinal Mooney on Thursday, 51-22. 

ALLEN PARK >> Waterford Our Lady of the Lakes made advancing to the Class D quarterfinals look easy.

The Lakers never trailed on Thursday night, rolling past Marine City Cardinal Mooney for a 51-22 victory at Inter-City Baptist to claim a regional championship.

“We did a lot of good things and the girls are playing with a lot of confidence right now,” WOLL coach Steve Robak said. “I am really happy with how we played (Thursday). The girls have been playing their best ball right now.”
