Opening day of the spring season at Michael Boyd Athletic complex saw the Lakers softball team split a double header with Madison Heights Bishop Foley. The Lakers won the first game 4-0 behind an 18 strikeout no hit performance by 2018 Bowling Green University pledge Hannah Davies. Olivia Hankey started the fireworks with a lead off triple to open the game and the Lakers never looked back, she was 2/3 in the first game. Junior Kayla Sanders chipped in with a triple of her own and 2 RBI to help propel the Lakers.
In the second game the Lakers fell 5-3 after getting out to a 3-1 lead. Davies struck out 13 and Carver chipped in 3 hits in the game. The Lakers continue their season with another Catholic league matchup Wednesday when the travel to Wixom to take on St Catherine of Sienna.
