On Tuesday our students celebrated their first day back after Easter Break with an assembly announcing the recipients of the Oakland County Credit Union Scholarships for the 2017-18 school year.
Once again our friends at Oakland County Credit Union gave 13 lucky students, one in each in grade preschool through 11, $6,000 in scholarships. Students in grades fourth through 11 were asked to submit a 300-word essay focusing on the question, “What is my greatest victory and who has helped me achieve it?” Students in grades preschool through third grade submitted a drawing displaying their greatest victory. Every non-winning student received $5 for entering the contest!
During the assembly, our spring sports athletes our robotics team were also recognized. Upon hearing the news that our robotics team qualified to attend the World Championships in St. Louis, Missouri, OCCU generously donated $500 toward the team’s travel expenses!!
We appreciate our strong relationship with Oakland County Credit Union. They visit the school twice a month, on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday, for the students to make deposits and earn prizes. It’s nice how this corporate neighbor continues to come forward to help our community and students.
Congrats to our winners and a huge thank you OCCU!!
