Tuesday, March 23, 2021 was National Pro-Life Chalk Day. On this day, Our Lady of the Lakes High School students took to the sidewalks around the school with positive, creative Pro-Life words and slogans. This event was a wonderful opportunity to draw attention to Pro-Life messages.
The National Pro-Life Chalk day was initiated by Students for Life of America and supported by Right to Life-LIFESPAN. Our Lady of the Lakes is a Pro-Life school. Since the March for Life in D.C. was cancelled in January of this year, we have supported other initiatives, like the 2000 Crosses in front of the church, Annual Baby Shower, and Chalk day.
I want to thank Mrs. Rosemary Bloomer, high school art teacher, Scott Lewis, yearbook teacher, and Jim Wilson, Theology guest teacher, for supervising and photographing our students. They assisted me since I was facilitating the senior retreat at Subiaco Retreat House that day.
The students were respectful and took this project seriously. As you can see from the photos, life is precious and Lakes is a voice for the unborn.
