On Saturday the very young CYO 4/5/6 Lakers Softball team beat their rivals Everest 6-2 in the first game of their doubleheader notching their first win of the season. The girls scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to take the lead then held Everest scoreless in the top of the seventh for the win. Great team defense, precision pitching by Natalia Mersino, and timely hitting by Kennidy Koshorek, Ellie Robak, Molly Ronquillo, and Ashley Sanders contributed in this team win.
The girls fell short Game 2 but now have a few weeks to continue to practice their fundamentals before their next doubleheader on Saturday, May 4th at St. Lawrence and their next home date on Sunday, May 5th versus St. Hugo. Mark your calendars and be sure to come out and see this fantastic young team!
